Arsenic Side Effects Report #5789357-7
Arsenic side effect was reported by a Health Professional from ITALY on June 11, 2008. Male patient, 76 years of age, was diagnosed with acute promyelocytic leukaemia and was treated with Arsenic. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: anaemia, atrial flutter, cardiac murmur, cardiomegaly, dyspnoea, electrocardiogram qt prolonged, hepatomegaly, jugular vein distension, pericardial effusion. Arsenic dosage: 0.15 MG/KG QD. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: abdominal distension, abdominal pain , acute promyelocytic leukaemia differentiation syndrome, differential white blood cell count abnormal, dyspnoea, electrocardiogram qt prolonged, gastrointestinal hypomotility, haemoglobin decreased, ileus paralytic. Arsenic dosage: 0.15 MG/KG FIVE DAYS PER WEEK INTRAVENOUS. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: bundle branch block right, convulsion, electrocardiogram qt corrected interval prolonged, electrocardiogram qt prolonged, extrasystoles, palpitations, ventricular tachycardia, visual disturbance. Arsenic dosage: 9.3 MG QD INTRAVENOUS DRIP. During the same period patient was treated with ARSENIC TRIOXIDE, TRETINOIN, FLUCONAZOLE, SULFAMETHOXAZOLE, FUROSEMIDE. Patient recovered.
