Basiliximab and renal failure acute Patient Reports February 10, 2010

Basiliximab Side Effects Report #5906138-1
Basiliximab side effect was reported by a Health Professional from SPAIN on Sept 29, 2008. Male patient, 70 years of age, was diagnosed with heart transplant  and was treated with Basiliximab. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: asthenia, haemodialysis, infection , oedema peripheral, renal failure acute. Basiliximab dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with CYCLOSPORINE, SIROLIMUS, MYCOPHENOLATE MOFETIL, STEROIDS NOS. Patient died.

Basiliximab side effect was reported by a Physician from UNITED STATES on Jan 10, 2008. Male patient, 46 years of age, was diagnosed with heart transplant  and was treated with Basiliximab. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: blood creatinine increased, bronchopulmonary aspergillosis, chest pain , debridement, heart transplant rejection, pyrexia, renal failure acute, rhabdomyolysis, wound infection. Basiliximab dosage: 20 MG/DAY. During the same period patient was treated with HEARTMATE, TRIMETHOPRIM SULPHATE, TACROLIMUS, PREDNISOLONE, MYCOPHENOLATE MOFETIL. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: blood creatinine increased, bronchopulmonary aspergillosis, chest pain , debridement, heart transplant rejection, pyrexia, renal failure acute, rhabdomyolysis, wound infection. Basiliximab dosage: 20 MG/DAY. During the same period patient was treated with TACROLIMUS, MYCOPHENOLATE MOFETIL, PREDNISOLONE, HEARTMATE, TRIMETHOPRIM. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
