Colistin side effect was reported by a Pharmacist from UNITED STATES on Oct 27, 2005. Female patient, 61 years of age, weighting 261.5 lb, was diagnosed with pathogen resistance, pseudomonas infection and was treated with Colistin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: blood creatinine increased. Colistin dosage: 150MG Q12HRS IV. During the same period patient was treated with PYRIDOSTIGMINE BROMIDE, CLONIDINE, INSULIN, ARANESP, ENALAPRIL, NEXIUM, FERROUS SULPHATE. Patient recovered.

Colistin side effect was reported by a Pharmacist from UNITED STATES on Oct 05, 2005. Male patient, 53 years of age, weighting 101.4 lb, was diagnosed with empyema and was treated with Colistin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: blood creatinine increased, renal impairment. Colistin dosage: 150 MG EVERY 12 HOURS IV. During the same period patient was treated with FOLIC ACID, HEPARIN, THIAMINE. Patient recovered.

Female patient, 50 years of age, weighting 231.5 lb, was diagnosed with acinetobacter infection, spinal disorder and was treated with Colistin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: blood creatinine increased, renal impairment. Colistin dosage: 150MG Q12H INTRAVENOUS. During the same period patient was treated with MINOCYCLINE, PANTOPRAZOLE, VANCOMYCIN, RIFAMPIN. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Colistin side effect was reported by a Pharmacist from on Apr 01, 2005. Male patient, 45 years of age, was diagnosed with acinetobacter infection, sepsis  and was treated with Colistin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: blood creatinine increased, renal disorder. Colistin dosage: 150MG Q8 HOURS INTRAVENOUS. During the same period patient was treated with COLISTIN SULPHATE. Patient died on 09/22/2004.
