Ertapenem side effect was reported by a Pharmacist from UNITED STATES on June 07, 2006. Male patient, weighting 147.7 lb, was diagnosed with skin ulcer and was treated with Ertapenem. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: angiopathy, grand mal convulsion, loss of consciousness, myocardial infarction, postictal state, pupil fixed, refusal of treatment by relative, respiratory distress, ventricular fibrillation. Ertapenem dosage: unknown. Patient recovered.

Ertapenem side effect was reported by a Pharmacist from UNITED STATES on Sept 08, 2008. Male patient, 73 years of age, weighting 155.6 lb, was diagnosed with empyema, lung abscess and was treated with Ertapenem. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: cardio-respiratory arrest, faecal incontinence, grand mal convulsion, headache What is  headache, postictal state, urinary incontinence What is  urinary incontinence. Ertapenem dosage: 1000 MG Q24TH IV BOLU, 2 DOSES OVER 2 DAYS. During the same period patient was treated with AMIODARONE, LASIX, INSULIN GLARGINE, DUONEB, LEVOTHYROXINE, OMEPRAZOLE, VICODIN. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
