Fluphenazine Side Effects Report #5402060-8
Fluphenazine side effect was reported by a Health Professional from UNITED STATES on July 17, 2007. Male patient, 44 years of age, was diagnosed with schizophrenia and was treated with Fluphenazine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: blood chloride decreased, bradypnoea, brain oedema, cardiac arrest , coma, disorientation, fatigue, hyperglycaemia. Fluphenazine dosage: 25MG/IM/TWICE MONTHLY. During the same period patient was treated with HALOPERIDOL LACTATE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: base excess decreased, blood bicarbonate decreased, blood chloride decreased, bradypnoea, brain oedema, cardiac arrest , coma. Fluphenazine dosage: 25 MG,2 IN 1 M, INTRAMUSCULAR; 40 MG (40 MG, 1 IN 1 D), ORAL. During the same period patient was treated with HALOPERIDOL, OLANZAPINE, PAROXETINE, ALPRAZOLAM, BIPERIDEN HYDROCHLORIDE, BROMAZEPAM, DIAZEPAM. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: blood chloride decreased, bradypnoea, brain oedema, cardiac arrest , hyperglycaemia, hyponatraemia, hypotension, hypoventilation. Fluphenazine dosage: 40 MG; DAILY; ORAL. During the same period patient was treated with HALOPERIDOL, ALPRAZOLAM, DIAZEPAM, PAROXETINE, OLANZAPINE, FLUPHENAZINE DECANOATE, BIPERIDEN HYDROCHLORIDE, BROMAZEPAM. Patient died.
