Imipenem and agranulocytosis Patient Reports February 10, 2010

Imipenem Side Effects Report #5827802-9
Imipenem side effect was reported by a Physician from CHINA on July 15, 2008. Male patient, 66 years of age, was diagnosed with pneumonia , leukaemia and was treated with Imipenem. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: acute monocytic leukaemia, agranulocytosis, fungus culture positive, hepatic enzyme increased, jaundice , lung infection, respiratory failure. Imipenem dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with CILASTATIN AND IMIPENEM, PIPERACILLIN AND TAZOBACTAM, FLUCONAZOLE, SULFAMETHOXAZOLE. Patient died on 07/10/2008.
