Meperidine Side Effects Report #5065972-3
Meperidine side effect was reported by a Pharmacist from UNITED STATES on July 28, 2006. Female patient, 68 years of age, weighting 164.0 lb, was diagnosed with postoperative analgesia and was treated with Meperidine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: cardio-respiratory arrest, post procedural complication. Meperidine dosage: 75 MG IV Q3H PRN. During the same period patient was treated with ZESTRIL, LEVAQUIN, TORADOL, ZOFRAN, DILAUDID. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

During the same period patient was treated with PROMETHAZINE, DIGOXIN, ATENOLOL, LOVASTATIN, PLAVIX, LASIX, VASOTEC, ASPIRIN. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: cardiac arrest , respiratory arrest. Meperidine dosage: 15 MG DAILY IV. During the same period patient was treated with ATIVAN. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died on 10/28/2004.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: agitation, bronchopneumonia, condition aggravated, confusional state, contraindication to medical treatment, fall , hyperpyrexia, respiratory arrest, restlessness. Meperidine dosage: 25 MG; ONCE; IM. During the same period patient was treated with PHENELZINE, PERCODAN, ERYTHROMYCIN, CHLORPHENIRAMINE MALEATE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died on 03/01/1984.
