Mercaptamine Side Effects Report #5928330-2
Mercaptamine side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from FRANCE on Oct 06, 2008. Female patient, child 12 years of age, was diagnosed with cystinosis and was treated with Mercaptamine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: amnesia, anaemia, cerebral atrophy, convulsion, encephalopathy, gastrointestinal disorder, gastrooesophageal reflux disease, haemodialysis, neurological decompensation. Mercaptamine dosage: 44 MG/KG;DAILY; 89 MG/KG;DAILY. During the same period patient was treated with MERCAPTAMINE BITARTRATE, MERCAPTAMINE BITARTRATE, MERCAPTAMINE BITARTRATE, LAMOTRIGINE, PHENYTOIN , RANITIDINE, NIFEDIPINE, THYROXINE . Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: breath odour, gastrointestinal disorder, skin odour abnormal, vomiting. Mercaptamine dosage: unknown. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Mercaptamine dosage: 40 MG/KG DAILY ORAL; 60 MG/KG DAILY ORAL; 50 MG/KG DAILY ORAL; 20 MG/KG DAILY ORAL. During the same period patient was treated with OMEPRAZOLE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
