Mercaptopurine side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from UNITED STATES on Aug 25, 2005. Male patient, 66 years of age, was diagnosed with crohn's disease  and was treated with Mercaptopurine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: diffuse alveolar damage, leukocytosis, pneumonitis, pulmonary toxicity. Mercaptopurine dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with PREDNISONE. Patient recovered.

Mercaptopurine side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from UNITED STATES on Aug 06, 2007. Male patient, weighting 139.1 lb, was treated with Mercaptopurine. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: atrioventricular block, blood culture positive, cardiac arrest , hypogammaglobulinaemia, neutropenia, nocardiosis, pneumocystis jiroveci infection, pneumonitis, pneumothorax. Mercaptopurine dosage: 1300 MG. During the same period patient was treated with DEXAMETHASONE, METHOTREXATE, VINCRISTINE SULPHATE. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
