Metamucil side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from UNITED STATES on Feb 21, 2007. Male patient, 53 years of age, weighting 250.9 lb, was diagnosed with change of bowel habit and was treated with Metamucil. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: blood potassium decreased, cholecystitis, constipation What is  constipation, diverticulum, foreign body trauma, gamma-glutamyltransferase increased, ileus, intestinal obstruction, neutrophil count increased. Metamucil dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with ANTIHYPERTENSIVES, TOPROL. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
