Nilotinib and abdominal distension Patient Reports February 10, 2010

Nilotinib Side Effects Report #5518989-6
Nilotinib side effect was reported by a Physician from TAIWAN, PROVINCE OF CHINA on Nov 08, 2007. Male patient, 60 years of age, was diagnosed with gastrointestinal stromal tumour, insomnia, pain  and was treated with Nilotinib. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: abdominal distension, abdominal pain , acinetobacter bacteraemia, constipation , decreased appetite, diarrhoea, dyspnoea, faecal volume decreased. Nilotinib dosage: 800MG DAILY. During the same period patient was treated with ZOPICLONE, FENTANYL, MORPHINE, LORAZEPAM, RIVOTRIL, GABAPENTIN. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Male patient, 60 years of age, was diagnosed with gastrointestinal stromal tumour, insomnia, pain  and was treated with Nilotinib. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: abdominal distension, abdominal pain , acinetobacter bacteraemia, decreased appetite, diarrhoea, dyspnoea, faecal volume decreased, ileus. Nilotinib dosage: 800MG DAILY. During the same period patient was treated with ZOPICLONE, FENTANYL, MORPHINE, LORAZEPAM, RIVOTRIL, GABAPENTIN. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Male patient, 60 years of age, was diagnosed with gastrointestinal stromal tumour, insomnia, pain , urinary incontinence  and was treated with Nilotinib. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: abdominal distension, abdominal pain , acinetobacter bacteraemia, blood pressure decreased, decreased appetite, diarrhoea, dyspnoea, faecal volume decreased. Nilotinib dosage: 800MG DAILY. During the same period patient was treated with NILOTINIB VS IMATINIB, NILOTINIB VS IMATINIB, ZOPICLONE, FENTANYL, MORPHINE, LORAZEPAM, RIVOTRIL, GABAPENTIN. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died on 12/09/2007.

Nilotinib side effect was reported by a Physician from UNITED STATES on Mar 21, 2008. Female patient, 36 years of age, weighting 170.4 lb, was diagnosed with gastrointestinal stromal tumour and was treated with Nilotinib. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: abdominal distension, abdominal pain , ascites, blood creatinine increased, constipation , dehydration, gastrointestinal tube insertion, hypotension. Nilotinib dosage: 400 MG, BID. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died on 03/12/2008.
