Posaconazole side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from FRANCE on Nov 11, 2008. Male patient, 55 years of age, was diagnosed with prophylaxis and was treated with Posaconazole. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: asthenia, convulsion, disease progression, eye pain, facial pain, fungus culture positive, gastrointestinal haemorrhage, nasal congestion, neurological decompensation. Posaconazole dosage: 400 MG;BID;. During the same period patient was treated with STEROIDS. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: central nervous system lesion, coma, convulsion, gastrointestinal haemorrhage, zygomycosis. Posaconazole dosage: 400 MG BID. During the same period patient was treated with STEROIDS. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died.

Male patient, 61 years of age, weighting 174.2 lb, was diagnosed with fungal infection , prophylaxis against graft versus host disease, antiviral prophylaxis and was treated with Posaconazole. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: acute graft versus host disease in intestine, acute graft versus host disease in skin, cholelithiasis, cholestasis, constipation , convulsion, cystitis, cytomegalovirus infection , dehydration. Posaconazole dosage: 200 MG; QID; PO. During the same period patient was treated with PROGRAF, ACYCLOVIR, SANDIMMUNE, DECORTIN, CELLCEPT, GANCICLOVIR, BELOC ZOC COMP. Patient was hospitalized. Patient died on 05/21/2006.

Female patient, 78 years of age, weighting 172.0 lb, was diagnosed with culture positive and was treated with Posaconazole. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: confusional state, convulsion, eye injury, fall , headache , laceration. Posaconazole dosage: 400MG TWICE A DAY PO, NOT SURE OF DURATION. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
