Propylthiouracil side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from UNITED STATES on Oct 16, 2006. Female patient, 62 years of age, was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and was treated with Propylthiouracil. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: basedow's disease, blister, blood thyroid stimulating hormone decreased, disease recurrence, oedema peripheral, pain What is  pain, purpura, rash What is  rash, skin exfoliation. Propylthiouracil dosage: 100 MG;TID;PO. During the same period patient was treated with ORAL CONTRACEPTIVE, PROPANOLOL LA. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.

Female patient, 45 years of age, was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and was treated with Propylthiouracil. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody positive, c-reactive protein increased, disease recurrence, dysphagia, hyperthyroidism, mouth ulceration, pharyngeal ulceration, red blood cell sedimentation rate increased, skin necrosis. Propylthiouracil dosage: 300 MG; QD; PO. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
