Rifampin Side Effects Report #5011825-6
Rifampin side effect was reported by a Consumer or non-health professional from UNITED STATES on Mar 20, 2006. Male patient, 66 years of age, was diagnosed with tuberculosis  and was treated with Rifampin. After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: activated partial thromboplastin time prolonged, alanine aminotransferase increased, aspartate aminotransferase increased, blood alkaline phosphatase increased, blood bilirubin increased, fatigue, hepatocellular damage, nausea , prothrombin time prolonged. Rifampin dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with PYRAZINAMIDE, LISINOPRIL, METFORMIN, COLCHICINE, ASPIRIN. Patient died.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: alanine aminotransferase increased, anorexia, aspartate aminotransferase increased, blood alkaline phosphatase increased, blood bilirubin increased, fatigue, hepatic failure, hepatic necrosis, nausea . Rifampin dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with PYRAZINAMIDE, NIFEDIPINE, HYDROCHLOROTHIAZIDE, ECOTRIN. Patient died.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: fatigue, headache , oropharyngeal pain. Rifampin dosage: 2 X 150 MG CAPS/ORAL. Patient recovered.

After drug was administered, patient experienced the following side effects: anorexia, arthralgia, asthenia, back pain , dizziness , fatigue, paraesthesia, rash papular, respiratory disorder. Rifampin dosage: unknown. During the same period patient was treated with METHOTREXATE, ACTONEL, CHRONO, ADVIL, HUMIRA, DAFALGAN, PLAQUENIL, VITAMIN D3. Patient was hospitalized. Patient recovered.
