Hello, was just searching on the net about omeprazole side effects and thought this was interesting.
At first i was getting slight headaches, which seemed to go away, also after about one month of use, I noticed I was getting spasms, around my testicles, and lower belly region. I take the medication as I had reflux, or peptic ulser.

I took this drug for little over a year and had significant weight gain, the latter month experienced chest pain, I removed myself from this drug on 11/11/2008, since then had Dr. appt. on11/17/2008 my lab results showed sluggish thyroid and weight loss of 4lbs since I stopped this drug, in short, this drug I feel killed my thyroid, caused me to become obese and since stopping this drug, the weight started coming off effortlessly, also chest pain subsided, now what angers me is my doctor doesn’t think the drug had anything to do with weight loss or my thyroid, and snickered about the chest pain, this was the only drug I have taken, no others did I take. Now because of gerd, he did not want me to stop the omeprazole, but gave me a prescription for zantac which he did not want to do but I have taken this drug before the omeprazole was started and my weight was 145lbs. it was between 184lbs-185lbs when I discontinued omeprazole on11/11/08. this has been a truly horrible experience.
