    66 year old male. Good to excellent health. Non smoker, non drinker.
    Slowly deteriorated till all joints were swollen and eventually I became 99% immobile. Diagnosis? Spotless, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. (erlickiosis chaffnesis) Hospitalized, infused with steriods and given a “Prednisone Pac” 3 days @ 40mg 3 days @ 30mg 3 days @ 20mg and 4 days @10mg. Within 2 days after weaning the symptoms reappeared. Told by Infectious disease doctor to see a rhumatologist.
    Two days later I ended up in the emergency room. Was addmitted to hospital. Symptoms were not as bad because I still had use of my knees. Saw Rhumatologist. Went through a battery of blood tests and then given another regimen of prednisone. 7 days @ 80mg (40 x 2 daily) 7 days @ 60 (30 x 2 daily) 7 days @40mg (20 x 2 daily) 7 days @ 20mg (10 x 2 daily)7 days 10mg (5 x 2 daily)
    So far there has been little side effects. Little harder going to sleep but I can always nap so I’m hardly tired. I excercise daily walking up to 2-3 miles with 5# weights on some good size hills. I’m back on insulin but so far the dosage units are low. 7-9 novalog before meals and 10 units levimer at bedtime. My glucose readings have never gone over 180. Starting second week of second regimen. 60 mg (30 x 2 daily) See what happens.
